The Glenn Armentor Law Corporation’s Pay It Forward Scholarship of Excellence was recently featured on Midday with Darla, highlighting the program’s continued investment in hardworking Acadiana students.
Established by Glenn Armentor, the scholarship was inspired by the generosity of those who helped him overcome a childhood marked by poverty and pursue his own education. Today, the program continues that legacy by providing selected students with $10,000 toward their higher education.
The 2026 recipients include students who have demonstrated determination, academic commitment, financial need, and a desire to build a better future. Among this year’s honorees are Ilijah Butts, a senior at Catholic High School in New Iberia, and Shanna Leblanc, a senior at Cecilia High School.
During the two-part Midday with Darla feature, viewers had the opportunity to learn more about the scholarship recipients, the challenges they have overcome, and the goals they hope to pursue through higher education.
The Pay It Forward Scholarship is about more than financial assistance. It is an investment in students who have shown resilience and potential—and an encouragement for them to one day use their education and success to help others.
